Dr. Rebekah Shirley is an environmental research professional with over thirteen years of international experience working with clean energy technologies – two in energy regulation, six as a full-time research analyst, and five directing non-profit research. As the Director of Research, Data and Innovation at the World Resources Institute, Africa, Rebekah strengthens local research capacities and helps to mobilize inclusive, sustainable solutions for resource management by creating widespread access to critical data and insights. Her expertise is in power systems modeling. Having lived and worked across East Africa, Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Rebekah also enjoys exploring the role of society and culture in solutions for sustainability. Rebekah is passionate about climate justice, science communication and student mentoring.
