Research

My research explores how centralized and distributed energy technologies can be integrated to solve both power infrastructure and energy access challenges in emerging economies. I currently work with practitioner partners to innovate models for the future of energy service provision in sub-Saharan Africa. My past projects have involved identifying opportunities to improve renewables penetration in Borneo, Laos and Bangladesh, building the first carbon emissions and green jobs calculators localized for the Caribbean, designing carbon neutral emergency housing for hurricane preparedness and climate resilience in French Polynesia, exploring innovations in agri-productivity in Nicaragua, and modelling least-cost power systems for partners across Latin America, Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
